How Lease-to-Own Works

Custom Solar Design

Our experienced Solar Designer creates a solar energy system tailored to meet your home’s energy needs and goals.

A Trusted Third-Party Owner

Our partners at SolSource buy the system and receive the 30% Federal Solar Tax Credit.

You Save 30% on Your System

Through a loan with Concert Finance, you pay SolSource 70% of the original project cost – your discount reflects your part of the tax credit savings.

Ownership After 5 Years

All the electricity your array generates goes directly to you. SolSource owns your system for 5 years (as required by the IRS tax code), after which ownership transfers to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Aren’t solar leases kind of sketchy?

Historically, ReVision Energy has not found a lease program it could ethically stand behind. This one is different – it's a lease-to-own, with no questionable contracts or hidden clauses. We are really excited about this new tool because it aligns with our mission-driven, values-based organization.

Why does SolSource own the system for 5 years?

To qualify for the commercial solar tax credit, as required by the IRS tax code, SolSource needs to own the system for 5 years.

What happens in year six?

Ownership automatically transfers to you!

How does the loan work? Can I pay it off early?

You can pay off the loan at any time from Month 1 to Year 25. There are no early payment penalties.

What happens if I sell my house?
  1. If you sell your home within the first five years, you need to get the buyer to take over the remainder of the loan, or buy it out.
  2. If you sell your home after year 5, it’s just like any solar rooftop system – it's part of the house; monitoring can be easily transferred to the new owners.
Who will service my system if something happens?

ReVision Energy will service your system. We have a 24/7 in-house service team.

Can I talk to someone at ReVision Energy about my eligibility?

Yes! Please feel free to give us a call and we can answer your questions.
